Description
Floor diffusers allow supply air from mechanical ventilation and air conditioning systems to enter a room from below or from the floor. To adapt to different local conditions, 3 different air routing options are possible.
Vertical flow without adjustment
Without a controlled vortex device, supply air flows vertically into the room at a moderate speed. Because cold air is heavier than warm air, the direction of flow is reversed and the supply air flows back towards the floor. A low-turbulent or wave-like flow spreads over the entire surface of the floor. Lift current is generated near heat sources such as people and equipment, so air exchange occurs primarily in these areas.
This type of hybrid or mixed ventilation is designed solely for cooling. It is especially suitable for rooms with a clear separation between the walking and living areas. These include, for example, cinema or theater rooms and waiting areas. The maximum temperature difference of the supply air should not exceed -6 K. The exhaust air should be discharged to the upper part of the room, above the occupied area.
Horizontal air flow
An adjustable vortex unit, set to vertical flow, creates a swirling vertical flow of supply air into the room. In this case, the supply air forces the room air close to the floor surface and quickly reduces the air speed, as well as the temperature difference between the supply air and the room air. This type of mixed ventilation is especially suitable for premises intended for permanent residence of people. This includes, for example, office or meeting spaces and
conference rooms.
